Sensual Systems, Radical Forms.
This experimental book and motion piece recontextualize the Avant Garde typeface through the radical spirit of the sexual revolution. Embracing the font’s geometric precision and provocative legacy, I explored how typography can act as both design and dissent. The project plays with censorship, liberation, and visual rhythm—merging bold letterforms with archival imagery and language from 1960s and ’70s counterculture. The result is a sensual typographic artifact that asks: what does it mean for type to be revolutionary?
The animation builds on the book’s exploration of Avant Garde typography through the lens of the sexual revolution. Using movement as a tool for expression, the piece layers type, rhythm, and pacing to mirror themes of liberation and tension.
